If you are traveling with your bicycle, there are a few things you need to ask carriers:Do they accept bikes?
Note: if they say yes, then pin them down on whether bikes are always accepted, or only when space permits. (Which leads to...)
Do they have a maximum capacity for bikes? If so, do they accept reservations?
Is a reservation needed for bikes?
Is there a cost for bikes?
Do they have bike racks?
Does the bike need to be disassembled and/or packaged?
Airlines
Victoria International Airport Real-time Schedule
Air Canada
http://www.aircanada.ca
In partnership with their regional partner, Air BC, Air Canada offers 18 flights per day from Vancouver in addition to non-stop service from Calgary and non-stop seasonally from Toronto.
Bicycles: The charge for a bicycle is CDN$65.00 within Canada, CDN$65.00/US$50.00 to the United States, and no charge on international flights if total checked luggage is no more than two pieces. If the bicycle is additional to two pieces of luggage, then transport costs vary depending on location - check for details when you book your flight. The bike can be packaged in a box or in a bike bag, provided free at the airport. The tires must be deflated, pedals removed and handlebars set sideways. You should do this either before you leave home or bring the appropriate tools, as tools are not available at the airport check-in.
U.S. airlines prefer boxes. You may experience challenges if you
carry your bike in a bag. If you do use your Air Canada bag, hang on
to it for your return journey. Some airports may not have boxes or
bags
